We are looking for a detail-oriented Firmware QA Engineer with 1 year of experience to validate embedded firmware for IoT-based products. The candidate will be responsible for testing firmware functionality, identifying defects, documenting test results, and ensuring product quality before release.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing for embedded firmware.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test plans, and test reports.
• Verify firmware features against product requirements.
• Identify, reproduce, and report bugs using defect tracking tools.
• Work closely with Firmware Developers and Hardware Engineers to resolve issues.
• Perform validation on microcontroller-based embedded systems.
• Test communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, BLE, Wi-Fi, or LoRa (based on project requirements).
• Validate firmware updates (OTA and wired firmware upgrades).
• Conduct stress, endurance, and performance testing.
• Verify hardware-software integration and peripheral functionality.
• Maintain testing documentation and release records.
• Support field issue analysis and root cause investigation.

Required Skills

• 1 year of experience in Firmware/Embedded QA Testing.
• Basic understanding of Embedded C and firmware development concepts.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers such as STM32, PIC, AVR, ESP32, or ARM Cortex-M.
• Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485).
• Experience using debugging tools such as Serial Terminal, Logic Analyzer, or Oscilloscope.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and defect life cycle.
• Ability to write clear test cases and bug reports.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I), Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• Experience testing IoT products is an added advantage.
